2008 LATE MODEL 1. BODY - Full body passenger cars. Car is to have a complete floorboard extended to behind the driver’s seat or boxed in interior. Full firewalls between the driver and the engine are required. Bars to cover the windshield and full roll cage are required. 2. FRAMES - MINIMUM 103" ONE HUNDRED THREE INCH WHEELBASE. 3. TRANSMISSION - MUST have blow proof bell housing around the clutch. 4. REAR ENDS - Passenger car, Truck, or Quick-change. 5. GAS TANKS - Racing fuel cells are mandatory and are to be mounted by at least two (2) steel straps being two inches (2") wide around cell. Fuel cells are to be enclosed in a metal container and be protected in rear by securely mounted roll cage tubing. Tubing is to be wider than six inches (6") on both sides of the fuel cell. Fuel cells are not bo be mounted any less than eleven inches (11') from the ground. No part of the fuel cell is to be lower than the bottom of the rear end. Fuel cells are to have check valves and bladders. LIMITED CAPACITY OF FUEL CELLS IS 32 GALLONS. 6. CARBURETOR - ONLY ONE OF TWO , THREE OR FOUR BARREL. 7. ENGINE PLACEMENT - The engine cannot be moved back toward the rear of the vehicle more than six (6") inches from the center of ball joint to the # 1 plug. 8. ALUMINUM BLOCKS ARE ACCEPTABLE. 9. TIRES - 11" (ELEVEN INCH) MAXIMUM; Hoosier WRS SPEC D 55 10. SAFETY- Cars must be in good, safe mechanical condition with four wheel brakes. 11. AXLES - NO straight older model or tube frame axle styles. 12. ROLL CAGES: a) Constructed of continuous hoops not less than 1.666" outside diameter and having a wall thickness of at least .095. b) Should be frame mounted in at least six (6) places. c) Should consist of a configuration of front and rear hoops connected by tubing on the sides or side hoops. The driver’s head with helmet is not to protrude above cage once driver is strapped in driver’s seat. Roll cage is to be securely supported and braced. d) Low carbon, mild steel tubing is recommended. No brazing or soldering is allowed. e) Bar across back of engine with vertical bars and rub rails, or similar engineering is recommended to protect driver’s feet. f) No brace bars forward of cage may be higher than stock hood height. g) Driver door bars should be as parallel with the ground as possible, and located perpendicular to the driver to provided maximum protection possible for driver. Bar location should not, however, create undue difficulty for driver to enter or exit cockpit. The side bars should be welded to the front and rear of the roll cage members. Door bars less than .095 thickness must have at least four (4) bars being at least 1 ½ “ diameter. 13. SPOILERS - Spoilers can be 8" tall, located 48" from the ground to the top of spoiler; side braces are to be only 18". NO WINGS, BILLBOARDS OR SIDE SPOILERS ALLOWED. 14. PROTEST - ANY CAR FOUND TO BE RUNNING ILLEGAL TIRES WILL FORFEIT ANY PRIZE MONEY AND POINTS FOR THAT RACE PROGRAM. The management will measure the wheelbase on ay car upon request of driver or owners. If the measurement is too short the car will be turned down to race. NEW DRIVERS/CARS with minor rule deviations may be permitted to race on a on-time (first night out) basis.
